Non-contact conductivity level detector (conductivity level switches)

The detector signals when the liquid conductivity level exceeds the threshold value and is intended for estimating the total salt content in the water.

The detector is intended:
* To estimate the total salt content of water in drinking water bottles, kettles, coffee makers, washing vacuum cleaners, washing machines and other household appliances.
* To separate products by electrical conductivity.

Distinctive characteristics of the detector:
– measuring electrodes are isolated from water;
– the flow of electrochemical processes on the electrodes during the measurement process is excluded;
– small size;
– low power consumption;
– suitable for battery powered devices;
– good electrocompatibility;
– can be powered from the USB port.

When monitoring the total salt content in drinking water, the detector generates a low logic zero signal at the output if the total salt content in the water does not exceed the specified threshold level. If the total salt content exceeds the specified threshold level, a logic unit signal is generated at the output.

The sensitive element of the sensor is located on top.

Optionally, the sensitive element of the detector with a rectangular housing can be moved outside the detector housing and connected to it with two wires, no more than 10 cm long. Dimensions of the sensitive element of the sensor: diameter 12 mm, thickness 5 mm.

Optionally, the detector can be made in a cylindrical housing.

Range of the specified threshold level of electrical conductivity: 10 — 1000 µS/cm;

Accuracy of determination of permissible total salt content: 2%;

Supply voltage: 2,8 V — 5,5 V;

Current consumption with load on the input of the CMOS IC No-load current: 200 µА;

Measuring signal frequency: 8 kHz;

Output Voltage High min: 2,65 V; Output Voltage Low max: 0,1 V; Maximum output current: 15 mА;
